even though the windows 10 versions are out now. I knew it had to be possible to run these games without third party software so i fiddled with it till i got it running. It took a lot of trial and error and I'm sure there is a better compatibility mode combination to run Myst but since I already beat it, and having installed Quicktime 7 to play Riven I haven't had time to go back and try other combos. I set compatibility mode for Riven.exe to Windows 8 (I might have done this for Myst as well but I'm not sure. I don't know for sure if this matters but i unchecked the box that says, "requires Direct X 9". I installed the latest version of Quicktime 7 I ran into a few animation issues which were solved simply by restarting the game. I had to set compatibility mode for Myst.exe to 98/Me
